We’re very happy to share that the Mencap Training Academy will be working with DFN Project Search and leading logistics company, GXO to deliver a new supported internship programme at GXO’s Iceland distribution centre in Enfield from September 2026.

Mencap are now encouraging people to apply for the programme which you can do by using the online expression of interest form: https://trainingacademy.mencap.org.uk/supported-internships-pre-internships-EOI.
There is an option on the form to indicate GXO Enfield as the programme respondents are interested in.
Mencap are planning their next assessment day with GXO on the 24th of September so are encouraging young people to express their interest in the programme so they can complete their initial assessments ahead of this date.
Working at GXO Enfield could be a great fit for young people who:
- Appreciate structure and like following a process
- Enjoy active, physical work
- Are interested in working with equipment and machinery
- Can travel to the GXO distribution centre at 5 Solar Way, Enfield. We can provide some travel training to learners at the start of programme and people from neighbouring boroughs to Enfield who are able to travel to the site are welcome to attend.
Through other existing partnerships with Mencap, GXO have supported many supported internship learners into paid job outcomes, so this new programme represents a fantastic opportunity for young people with an EHCP looking for their first job.
